This policy explains how domain names are registered, used, renewed and transferred through Blazestone Hosting, a trading name of Blazestone Consulting and Productions Pty Ltd (ABN 18 672 951 503). It forms part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy. If anything in this policy conflicts with the rules of ICANN, auDA or the relevant domain registry, those rules apply.
1.1. Blazestone Hosting processes domain registrations, renewals and transfers through our accredited domain services partner, eNom, Inc. (United States).
1.2. When you register or transfer a domain with us, you also agree to the registrant agreement presented at checkout and to the policies of the registry that runs your domain extension, including:
1.3. You (the registrant) hold the right to use the domain for its registration or licence period. Blazestone Hosting manages the domain on your behalf as your designated agent.
2.1. Availability. A domain search shows whether a name appears available. Registration is only confirmed once payment is received and the registry accepts the order. We do not guarantee that any domain can be registered.
2.2. Accurate details. You must provide complete and accurate registrant contact details (name, organisation, email, phone and address) and keep them up to date. For generic domains, the registrant email must be verified; if a verification email is not confirmed within 15 days, the domain may be suspended until it is.
2.3. Australian domains. To hold a .au domain you must have an Australian presence and meet the eligibility rules for the namespace (for example, an ABN or ACN for .com.au). Eligibility is checked when you order and must be maintained for the whole licence period. Changes to your details must be reported within 14 days. A verification fee of $1.00 AUD may apply per check, as set out in our Terms of Service.
2.4. Registration term. Domains are registered for one year or more, as selected at checkout (.au licences run for 1 to 5 years).
2.5. Privacy. Basic WHOIS privacy is included free where the registry allows it. Some extensions, including .au, do not support privacy services.
2.6. Fees and refunds. Prices are shown in AUD on our Domains page. Domain registrations, renewals and transfers are non-refundable once processed, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
3.1. You must not use a domain registered through us, or any website, email or service connected to it, to:
3.2. Australian domains may not be rented, leased, sub-licensed or used by an unrelated third party, and some namespaces prohibit domain monetisation.
3.3. If we receive a credible complaint or a request from a registry, regulator, court or law enforcement agency, we may suspend, lock, redirect or cancel a domain, or hand over information as required by law. Where possible we will contact you first.
3.4. Disputes over the right to a domain name are resolved under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) for generic domains, or the .au Dispute Resolution Policy (auDRP) for Australian domains.
3.5. To report abuse, use our Report Abuse page.
4.1. You are responsible for renewing your domain on time. If auto-renew is enabled, we will attempt to renew using your payment method on file before expiry.
4.2. For generic domains, we send renewal reminders approximately one month and one week before expiry, and again within five days after expiry, to the registrant email on file.
4.3. After expiry, the domain and any website or email that depends on it may stop working. Generic domains can usually still be renewed for a short grace period after expiry. After that, a domain may enter a redemption period where a restoration fee applies, before it is released for anyone to register.
4.4. Expired .au licences cannot be renewed once removed from the registry. Renew Australian domains before their expiry date.
5.1. To transfer a domain to us, you need:
5.2. Generic domains (.com, .net, .org and similar). A transfer cannot usually be made within 60 days of the domain’s first registration, a previous transfer, or certain changes of registrant. Transfers typically complete within 5 to 7 days and add one year to the registration term. The fee is the same as our published registration price for that extension; no separate transfer fee applies.
5.3. Australian domains (.au, .com.au and similar). The registrant must remain eligible, and the domain must not be the subject of a current complaint, dispute or court proceeding. Once the details are validated, the transfer can take up to three days. Moving a .au domain to Blazestone Hosting is free, and the licence period is not changed by the transfer.
5.4. We may decline a transfer in where the details provided are incomplete, the domain is locked or disputed, or the request appears fraudulent.
5.5. Migrating a website to our hosting at the same time is free of charge. See How do I transfer a domain to Blazestone? for step-by-step instructions.
6.1. You may move your domain to another provider at any time, subject to this policy and the relevant registry rules.
6.2. To transfer out, ask us to unlock your domain and to send you its transfer authorisation code. We will provide it within 5 business days of a valid request, at no charge. For .au domains you can also retrieve the code yourself using auDA’s domain password recovery tool.
6.3. We, or our domain services partner, may decline a transfer out only where permitted by ICANN or auDA rules, including where:
6.4. Once a transfer out is complete, the domain is no longer managed by us, and services that relied on it (such as email or DNS hosted with us) may stop working unless you set them up with your new provider.
See How do I transfer my domain away from Blazestone? for step-by-step instructions.
7.1. Generic domains. A change of registrant must be confirmed by both the current and the new registrant. For security, a change of registrant may place a 60-day lock on transfers to another provider.
7.2. Australian domains. A .au licence can be transferred to another eligible entity at any time. The new registrant must meet the eligibility rules, accept a new licence agreement and pay the licence fee. Any full years remaining carry over (up to five years). If the transfer is part of a business sale, it must be requested within 28 days of the agreement unless the agreement says otherwise.
8.1. We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or in ICANN, auDA or registry rules. The latest version is always available on this page.
